Healthy Pet Connect is a home health monitoring system that uses Bluetooth and other measurement tools to help you manage the health of your pet by connecting to your vet through a free vet dashboard. With the App, you can upload pictures, videos, the amount of food and treats you’re feeding plus record exercise, medications and any other observations you feel are important to share, plus receive important health alerts. Pair the App with the HPC food and body weight scales for precision results. |
What does Connected mean?What does my veterinarian have to do? We offer a free dashboard to veterinarians, which will provide a
real-time view of the data captured by your App and connected devices. All your vet needs to do to access the dashboard. Again, registration is FREE and they will continue to perform all exams and provide care as usual. Is it for cats and small dogs only? Our food scale is universal for all pets and our body weight scale will weigh up to 20kg. Bigger pets will need to be weighed on a human or veterinary scale. Can I use a baby scale or a food scale? You can, but for accuracy, food safety, reliability, pet friendliness and for the benefit of being connected to your vet, we encourage you to use our affordably priced HPC scales. |
What is the cost?Subscriptions for weight management, and long-term care (diabetes, CKD, cancer, osteoarthritis, etc) range from $9.95/mo. to $29.95/mo. and are available for 1, 3, 6, or 12 months.

What is it?
Healthy Pet Connect is a free pet preventive healthcare app that also offers monthly memberships for remote patient monitoring of weight management, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, osteoarthritis, IBD/lymphoma and other conditions. A veterinary dashboard is provided to the pet parents' veterinarian when membership is active which allows real-time data transfer and prevents unneeded visits and increases accessibility. The pet parent’s veterinarian makes all decisions based on the pet parents' data. Alert flags from HPC to both pet parent and veterinarian are consistent with recommendations from board-certified veterinary nutritionists and published peer-reviewed guidelines.
What are the benefits to my pet?
The value of a pet at healthy weight is invaluable in terms of preventing health problems and increasing longevity. The 2002 Purina study (Kealy et al) showed ideal weight dogs lived 15% longer than those that were overfed. That same study has been repeated in almost every species. Reducing visits to the veterinarian, the associated costs of obesity, preventing diabetes or other diseases is our focus. Precise monitoring of diabetes, hyperthyroidism, CKD and other diseases becomes seamless with the HPC platform. The first level membership provides veterinary tele-monitoring to your veterinarian, which can then also be shared with your pet groomer, pet sitter or family members too! , Membership provides discounts on all of the items in our Marketplace all of which have been handpicked for being effective, validated & being pet-friendly. Using the HPC connected body weight and food scale and measuring system, your pets can begin their journey to ideal weight & vitality! Other validated, pet-friendly devices are being added to our store monthly.
How much does it cost?
The preventive pet health app and veterinary dashboard are both free. Memberships start at $14.95 and go up to $29.95 a month. Our Bluetooth-connected and enabled food & body weight scale is our flagship product. It is discounted or free with every membership level. 5% of every subscription goes to the rescues and outcome results help other pets nationwide. Preventing just one veterinary visit per year would easily cover the cost of your membership!
What pets/households does it work for?
All pets can benefit by using the HPC platform. Timely medication reminders, reminders to weigh your pet and record videos and upload photos that can be helpful for the veterinary team all help to provide precision weight management, long term & preventive care.
What technology is used?
The scales that we use are 20x more accurate than the typical human bathroom scale. Our food scales and feeding/measuring system ensure accurate measuring & food delivery if our detailed but easy-to-follow approach is used. Reliable pet-limited feeders (microchip or RFID) are vital to ensure no food sharing/stealing in multiple pet households and are available in our marketplace. Our platform is designed to handle new devices in an open-source environment. Webcams & activity monitors can be used in special circumstances too.
How well does it work for weight management?
Our publication in a peer-reviewed veterinary journal, where the technology-assisted group (scales, smart feeders, activity monitors and webcams) lost 4x as much weight as those that did not use technology in multiple cat households so if the technology setup is followed closely, results should be excellent. Spudgie, an overweight rescue cat lost over 25 lbs. in just 18 months at a rate of over a 1% average weekly weight loss. He started at 37# and now weighs 12.5# (no, there are no typos here!) He is very much an outlier, but he taught us a lot! His remarkable weight loss journey was just published in a peer-reviewed veterinary journal. PREVENTION is the key by accurate weighing, food measurements & exercise. Our founders, all veterinarians, now have 2 peer-reviewed papers & 6 abstracts related to weight management in cats.
Does the app work for both Android and Apple?
Yes! Both platforms are supported Our food scale is now blue-tooth connected and we are enhancing push notifications and our body weight scale will be blue-tooth connected in Q4.

Our partner Fit Pets for Rescues' Ideal Weight Challenge is now held twice a year! How well does the equipment work?
The feeders and scale both got very high ratings (Net Promoter Score) in a scientifically controlled study and questionnaire in our study published in Oct 2021 They are durable and simple to use. Health Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) was measured and actually increased using our technology in our 12 week study. What does that mean exactly? It was pet friendly and worked for both pets & pet parents!
Anything else it can do?
Remote Patient Monitoring of obesity, diabetes, CKD is the core of what we do in addition to prevention. We are also very excited to be in discussions with smart device, wearable, pet food, and pharmaceutical companies to partner in "soft" research that can be done in the comfort of a pet's home environment. As most/all veterinarians are currently overburdened with cases, our platform comes at a critical juncture for the profession. We are a tele-monitoring platform only, so can function in every state & country legally, simply allowing an easy data flow from pet to vet.
